Australian Study Visas are some of the hardest to get your hands onto, we all know that! But what if we told you that the Australian government wants you to come live in the land down under?

As Australia struggles with critical workforce shortages, the government wants more people to come in the country. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has appealed to International Students and Backpackers to come and live down under. And as an incentive, the PM announced rebates on visa application fees. International Students arriving in the country within the next eight weeks will have their visa fees of $630 rebated by the Department of Home Affairs. Whereas for Work Holiday Visa applicants, the visa fee of $495 will be rebated for the next 12 weeks.

So what does this mean for you?

For International Students:

If you are an off-shore student visa holder who comes to Australia within the next eight weeks, you are eligible to get a refund on your entire Visa application fee, which is worth $630. The same rules apply for all new off-shore student visa applications. Also, as per the DHA, all new applications will be processed a lot faster, to ensure that you can get to Australia within the refund period.

For Work Holiday Makers:

If you are an off-shore Work Holiday Visa holder who comes to Australia within the next twelve weeks, you will be eligible for a Visa application fee refund, which is worth $495. The same rules will apply for all new off-shore WHV applicants. Also, as per the DHA, all new applications will be processed a lot faster, to ensure that you can enter the country within the refund window.
