From 11:59pm on 8 July if you live in Melbourne greater area you must stay at home.
You can only leave home for one of the four reasons – shopping for food and supplies, care and caregiving, exercise, and study and work, if you can’t do it from home.
To help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), stay safe by regularly washing your hands, keeping at least 1.5 metres from other people, Wearing a mask when you got to public space and staying home if you feel unwell.
The New South Wales border is closed for Victorians. Victorian residents require a permit to enter New South Wales.
Utility relief grant to help pay your bills
WHO CAN APPLY?
A new relief grant is available in Victoria for people experiencing unexpected financial hardship due to Covid-19. This relief grant will help pay gas, electricity, or water bills.
The grant is available to both renters and homeowners.
HOW MUCH IS IT?
The amount of the grant is based on the amount you owe at the time of application. It is also based on the reasons you have given for applying in your application form.
You can receive a maximum of $650 on each utility type in a two-year period (or $1,300 for households with a single source of energy (for example, electricity only).
You can apply for separate grants for each utility (electricity, gas and water).
HOW TO APPLY?
You need to contact the retailer/provider for your electricity, gas or water to request an application. They will ask you first some questions before starting the application to make sure you are eligible and then you will be sent an online application to complete or if you wish, a paper form application.
