How to Apply

There are two ways to apply:

1️⃣ From your home country (Recommended)
• In-person at Spanish consulate
• Faster processing
• Apply approximately 90 days before course start

2️⃣ From Spain (Not recommended)
• Requires legal representative
• Processing can take 9–11 months in cities like Madrid and Barcelona
• You cannot work until visa approval

For most students, applying from your home country is the safest and fastest option.

• Acceptance letter from school
• Proof of funds (€600 per month)
• Spanish health insurance (minimum €30,000 coverage)
• Criminal record certificate

• Consular fee payment

After You Arrive in Spain

Within your first 30 days, you must:

• Register your address (Empadronamiento)
• Apply for your TIE (Foreigner ID Card)
• You can travel freely within the Schengen Area (90/180 rule)
