REMINDER: don't forget to print all your documents, because the French QR codes don't work in Australia, check that on your vaccine documents the serial number of each vaccine is stipulated.
You must first have a MyGov profile
The quickest way to get an IHI is to do it online via your myGov account. If you don't have an account, it's easy to create one.
You will need:
- Your passport
- A valid Australian visa
- These documents will be used to verify your identity and issue you an IHI.
How to convert your international vaccine certification?
Create an IHI (Individual Health Identify)
Once you have created your MyGov account, follow these steps to get an IHI online:
- Log in to myGov
- Select the services or associate your first service
- Select the IHI service from the list
- Follow the instructions to get your IHI and link the service to your myGov account
You need to make an appointment with a GP
Make an appointment with a GP via the HotDoc platform (this is the equivalent of DoctoLib). Once you have booked your appointment online, it is advisable to call reception to explain your situation: "I've got an International vaccination Certificate and I would like to get an Australian vaccination Certificate. I've booked an appointment online, do you need me to send you any documents before this appointment?
I did the test, they asked me to send them my IHI + international vaccination certificate beforehand to make sure they had all the info and not make you pay and come for nothing! ☺
Regarding the reimbursement of this consultation via your insurance, I might advise you to call them beforehand and ask if they cover this, as a GP consultation in Australia costs around $50-$80 AUD.

Once your certificate has been completed by the GP you will find your certificate on mygov.com.au. Download it and you're done 😉
